Cheddar – parkrun tourism

Cheddar – parkrun tourism
A great GWR turnout today at Sharpham Road playing fields. I counted 17 of us invading quite a small field of runners on a damp Saturday!
Just over half an hour away in cheddar, a flat course with very friendly Marshalls all the way round.
Great performances from birthday girl Nadia as first lady and Kelly as second Lady. Dan Jones was on good form in 3rd in 19:25 and John in a strong 5th overall also. What we anticipated being just a loop of a playing field was actually much more interesting which would have merited trail shoes in some parts taking us out of the playing field and onto some footpaths also. Good to see Rita reunited with her barcode (after a mad search for it began!) in the car park after a brilliant sub 30 run with an excellent sprint finish. We mostly avoided the rain but didn’t dampen our spirits!
