Join Us

We welcome prospective members to meet and run with us before joining formally, particularly on the third Wednesday of every month at one of our "newcomers" evenings (but you can attend on any Wednesday.) You are welcome to come down and run with us before joining, just turn up and give your name to the GWR club member who will always be around to welcome and help you. Please try to arrive by 18:50 so that we have time to introduce ourselves and place you with an appropriately paced group.

For your own comfort and enjoyment, we would expect you to be able to be able to cover a minimum total distance of 4 miles in 40 minutes i.e. 10 minute mile pace. If you feel this is a bit too much for you, and you are a lady, our friends at Sole Sisters (another of the running clubs in and around Bristol) would love to see you. To visit their site, click here.

Visit the FLORA London Marathon Running Clubs website (opens in a new window)

Please remember that, whilst we will do our utmost to match you with an appropriately paced group to run with, we don't have official leaders. Most runs have a couple of points where we regroup, but please remember that it's your responsibility to let others, with whom you are running with, know if you are having difficulties/are unsure of the route etc., and ask for help: others will always be happy to help - we just need to know when!

Membership (which includes social membership of the Bristol Lawn Tennis and Squash Club) is £27.50 as year (or £37.50 per household of up to 2 adults & 2 children), with reductions if you join later in the year.

If you have any questions please call Martin, our Membership Secretary, on 0117 9609573 or e-mail him at: martinb1"at"talktalk.net (replacing the "at" with @)
