Join Us

You are welcome to come down and run with us before joining, just turn up and give your name to either Martin or Moya Church who will be around to welcome and help you. Please try to arrive by 18:50 so that we have time to introduce ourselves and place you with an appropriately paced regular training group and distance.

If you have ever wanted to take up running but find yourselves breathless running for a bus, then our "New Runners Training Sessions" have been designed especially for you. At GWR we are holding courses on Wednesday Club Nights for the complete beginner who finds the thought of running impossible, with the aim to build you up to be able to join one of our regular training groups. Our team of UK Athletics Coaches will take you through the necessary steps to put you on the road to a regular running schedule.

Please remember that, whilst we will do our utmost to match you with an appropriately paced group to run with, we don't have official leaders. Most runs have a couple of points where we regroup, but please remember that it's your responsibility to let others, with whom you are running with, know if you are having difficulties/are unsure of the route etc., and ask for help: others will always be happy to help - we just need to know when!

Membership (which includes social membership of the Bristol Lawn Tennis and Squash Club) is £27.50 as year (or £37.50 per household of up to 2 adults & 2 children), with reductions if you join later in the year.

GWR are Affiliated to both England Athletics and The Association of Running Clubs.

If you have any questions please call Martin, our Membership Secretary, on 0117 9609573 or e-mail him at: martinb1"at"talktalk.net (replacing the "at" with @)
