doesn't normally attract any interest from GWR but here we are:
3 of us in the first 10! Chris was very pleased with his run and
I was with mine. This is a course with 2 climbs so steep and so
long that oxygen masks are recommended in the race literature.

High Peak Marathon, 03/03/06. 42m, ~5000' ascent. Starting at
11.30pm, through the night over the moors of the south Peak
District around Edale. This year, as per last, it was run in a
thick snow covering and substantially sub-zero temperatures.
GWR team (though in the end it was only me as the GWR member!)
was 4th overall in 11hours 45minutes, a mere 16 seconds from 3rd
place! 40 teams overall I think. |
